Brewers Select customers picked up twenty-four awards at the Society of Independent Brewers’ Awards for the Wales and West region held at Ludlow Festival recently.

Untapped Brewing Company took one of the top awards, Best Overall Cask Champion, for ‘Whoosh’, their 4.2% abv hoppy summer pale ale an excellent session IPA packed with clean tropical flavours with a long clean refreshing finish.

Gloucester Brewery picked up four gold and three silver medals in a very successful evening for the team, while Untapped Brewing Company from Raglan was awarded the overall champion medal, one gold and one silver medal. Mumbles Brewery from Swansea won two silver medals and one bronze medal and Pershore Brewery in Worcestershire won a silver and bronze medal.

Grey Trees Brewery picked up a silver medal, while Tenby Brewing Co picked up two bronze medals and Bespoke Brewery, Boss Brewing and Heavy Industry Brewing each collected a bronze medal.

Guy Sheppard, SIBA’s competitions committee Chair said; “Many congratulations all our winners across the categories. We had some excellent entries and overall the standard in Ludlow has been really high for all the beers.”

The SIBA Wales & West Independent Beer Awards judge a huge range of beers across a number of styles before the winners from each category go forward to an ‘Overall Champions’ final.
