Medal Haul in SIBA’s South West Awards

Eleven Brewers Select customers were awarded a fantastic twenty-one medals at the recent SIBA South West Independent Beer Awards in Newton Abbot picking up four golds, nine silvers and eight bronzes across fourteen categories.  

The awards took place prior to the Tuckers Maltings Beer Festival in Newton Abbot and are run by the Society of Independent Brewers (SIBA). The trade association represents independent craft brewers across the UK, who are now brewing the broadest range of beer styles ever seen, to quench the thirst for independent craft beer from drinkers and pub-goers.

Firebrand Brewing Co near Launceston and Powderkeg Brewery in Salterton collected three silver medals and one bronze medal each while Electric Bear Brewery in Bath won two of the coveted gold medals.

Congratulations also go to: Eight Arch Brewing Company and Keltek Cornish Brewery for their gold medals; Zero Degrees and Gyle 59 for their silver medals; Chedder Ales for two bronze medals; and Beat Ales, Hunters Brewery and Bristol's Brewhouse and Kitchen Ltd for their bronze medals.

We’d like to hope that it was something in the ingredients but we know it’s really down to the hard work, dedication and imagination of these fabulous guys and gals!
