The most widely grown English variety and available since 1972 this English mid-to-high alpha bittering hop was bred from Kent Eastwell Golding and Northern Brewer. Wye Target, as it is sometimes known, gained its name because the then ‘target’ of hop breeding programmes was VW resistance, given the decimation of Kentish Fuggle plantings at the time. Primarily a bittering variety it gives a pleasant but intense English hop aroma.
