Developed by the Hop Breeding Company of Yakima, Washington and released in 2007, Citra® is a proprietary variety bred from open pollination of German Hallertauer Mittelfrüh, US Tettnang, East Kent Golding and Brewer's Gold. Your order will be fulfilled with hops supplied by featured Hopunion Growers B.T. Loftus Ranches, Inc., Carpenter Ranches LLC and Perrault Farms. Despite impressive alpha levels Citra® is regarded as an aroma variety, having low cohumulone levels and strong citrus and tropical tones of grapefruit, melon, lime, gooseberry, passion fruit, mango and lychee. It can easily tip over into ‘cattiness’ if used exuberantly.

Suitable for: American-style Pale Ale, IPA, Double IPA.
Substitutes: None at present.
Disease: Moderately resistant to DM, PM.
Alpha: 11 - 15%
